Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) marks 30 years of philanthropy with $50 million in community grants and counting.
The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) celebrates its 30th anniversary, marking three decades of uniting the insurance industry to provide grants, volunteer service, and leadership in communities. The foundation is set to surpass $50 million in total grants awarded since its inception to nonprofit partners in the U.S. and U.K., benefiting children at risk, those facing food and housing insecurity, veterans, disaster relief, and recovery.

Founded in 1994, the IICF has been a beacon of support for communities, particularly those grappling with food insecurity, homelessness and disaster relief. IICF’s initiatives have evolved over time to address the changing needs of the communities it serves, the foundation’s 30th anniversary report noted. The organization’s U.K. division, based in London, marks its 10th anniversary in 2025. Canada will be the next international market for expansion this year, according to IICF.

In its report, the IICF highlighted its achievements and outlined its plans for the future. The foundation has made a significant impact, with industry professionals contributing more than 355,000 hours of their time to volunteer through the IICF, benefiting over 1,000 nonprofits.
The report also underscores the foundation’s commitment to convening the insurance industry on important leadership topics. As the next generation of talent seeks philanthropically minded employers, leaders are increasingly looking to the IICF for opportunities to give back.
“As we chart a course for the future, we are optimistic that many who read these pages recognize not only a need for support, but a calling to get involved and give back to the communities where we live and work,” write Wendy Houser, chair of IICF’s International Board of Governors and Bill Ross, CEO of IICF.
