PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — Palm Beach County has over 265,000 residents currently without health insurance coverage, according to estimates from the Palm Beach County Health Care District.

As the clock ticks down, local leaders are urging families to take action before the enrollment deadline for health insurance plans under the Affordable Care Act.
Wednesday marks the final day to enroll in these healthcare plans, making it crucial for families to secure coverage for the upcoming year.

It’s important to remember that re-enrollment is required each year, so it’s essential to complete the process before the deadline Wednesday.
There are several convenient ways to register for health insurance.
Residents can enroll by calling the toll-free number 1-800-318-2596, which is available 24 hours a day. Additionally, there are local agents ready to assist and you can find help by clicking here.
For those without access to a phone, the internet, or reliable transportation, Palm Beach County is bringing services directly to the community. Mobile units will be available Tuesday and Wednesday in various locations to help residents enroll in health insurance.

“We are using our mobile unit, that are equipped with internet, computers, and navigators, and we are doing everything that we can to mitigate barriers to assist low-income communities in getting enrolled in healthcare,” said James Green the Palm Beach County Community Services Director.
- On Tuesday, the mobile unit will be at the Pahokee Housing Authority, 899 Padgett Circle, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- On Wednesday, it will be stationed at the Mayme Frederick Building, 1440 MLK Jr. Boulevard in Riviera Beach, also from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
According to Healthcare.gov, when you submit your application for coverage through the marketplace, your family will be assessed for eligibility for free or low-cost options through Medicaid or the Children’s Health Insurance Program. If you qualify, a representative will reach out to assist with enrollment.
